You should totally plan on cowboy camping when feasible:
Great views of stars/sunrise/sunset from the comfort of your bag
Easy to make breakfast while still in bed
3 minutes to set up/take down campsite
Much smaller flat area needed to camp
Get a lightweight bivy sack and you will be protected from dew/mist, dirt
and wind. It will weigh an extra 7-10 oz, but will make your bag 5 degrees
warmer, so you can get some of that weight back by taking a lighter bag.
Leave your bag, pillow, ultralight teddy bear and sleeping pad (if
inflatable) inside the bivy and just stuff them all together into your
pack. Instant camp.
