Lone Pine is very small. It is one main street with all businesses on this street.  All are  within easy walking distance.  My favorite is the Dow Villa but you might check out the Mt. Whitney Hostel at this web site: http://www.whitneyportalstore.com/whitney-portal-hostel.htmlThere are also several other motels in Lone Pine.

I would appreciate any info on hiker friendly motels in Lone Pine.  I'll need to catch the bus to and from Reno from there.  The bus stops at the mcdonalds at 601 s. Main, so the motel should be close to there.  Thanks.
