[pct-l] Trimming Messages

 MAy I humbly suggest adjusting your settings to the NO E-MAIL mode and then reading the posts this way:
http://mailman.backcountry.net/pipermail/pct-l/  ?



You can pick and choose which e-mails to read quite quickly (yeah! multiple tabs!) and then respond to an e-mail by sending it to pct-l at backcountry.net. You can even selectively quote. ;)

I have been using this method for PCT-L and CDT-L for quite some time now. Works relatively well. 

No e-mails in the box to futz around with.

Just another option that may work for some.
