I had the pleasure of feeding hikers at Ebbetts Pass in 2011 for a few
days.  That year's hikers kept on through snow and high water for lots of
miles.  Talk about awe-inspiring, and terrifying-even-to-watch YouTube
videos of those Sierra water crossings!

My roadside setup was completely surrounded by snow, and yet the hikers
came dancing and shoe-sliding in, women and men, happy with their choice to
keep on walking, and just a little hungrier than in other years...
