For those in CA, WA and OR, the hiking window for the PCT is 52 weeks. The PCT is more than just an end in itself, it is a backcountry highway that gives access to many different trails and areas. It's a priceless resource.

The poachers are here to stay. They are "rad dudes" who don't think about the user conflict they are creating. Brick's advice is the best. My gf, btw, is always getting right in their faces about it. They might be adrenaline junkies, but a 57 year-old gal with a finger in their face really puts the fear of god in them.
