UPDATE: Taka was located close to the PCT near the milk Creek
drainage. The helicopter rescue team found him in the middle of a snow
field waving a 'flag' attached to a trekking pole. Helicopter rescue
technicians were inserted via low-hover and found Taka in good health.
taka has been flown out to the SAR command post which is near
Darrington. Taka was stuck for four days but survived thanks to his
good decision making (not wandering) and his quantity of good gear.
Taka would not have faired well fomuch longer. The helicopter team was
just one part of the search and rescue operation.
