[pct-l] Jet boil- below 32°

I used mine at 20F just a few weeks back. I forgot to put the canister in
the foot of my sleeping overnight - my normal routine for cold weather. But
I put the cold canister in a cup of water and it fired up and ran just fine.
I only use canisters with a propane/isobutane mix and NO Butane. JetBoil,
MSR, Brunton, & SnowPeak all qualify. Coleman, primus and Optimus are all
high in butane (may be called n-butane) and will be problematic in cold
weather. This is probably why there are such variable reports of canister
performance in cold weather.

Subject: [pct-l] Jet boil- below 32°

Last spring (around Easter) south of Big Bear I had two days where the temp
was about 15°. My Jet Boil worked fine. Maybe it was because I didn’t know
it didn’t work well below 32°. : P
