Hi Gary,
Yeah, I like white gas myself. I cannot get used to the canisters, even after using Caffin's UL stove a couple times. But, that really wasn't the question.
The Simmerlite was the lightest WG stove I found. But the tank, added to it, and the long tube on the pump meant it was a bear to light, either overflowing or not burning hardly at all. It only weighed about 8-9oz plus the tank, another ~3oz or so. And it gets terrible efficiency, close to 7/8oz burned per quart boiled, unless you have a huge 4quart pot. I do not agree with some people. You CANNOT simmer with it, but for winter? Who cares.

For melting snow, nothing beats white gas. The newer stoves are quite a bit lighter than the older stoves.
