Aaahhh...CATRA....I remember CATRA.
Catra is unlike any girl you ever met...Google Catra to see what I mean.

Catra and I met on a moonlit summer night in the hut, on top of Mt. 
Whitney, in 2004.
Catra had just completed the first half of her JMT jo-jo and I was 
sleeping in the
hut on the eve of my unsupported JMT record attempt, when Catra burst 
into the
hut and into my life.

I also accompanied Catra from the border to Lake Moreno on her PCT record
attempt in 2007.
If Catra would have dumped those "wanna hike with Catra losers," who always
wanted to hook with her and only slowed her down, and hooked up with Tatoo
Joe, like I encouraged her, she would have had a better chance at the 
record.

Maybe this year Catra could hook up with Switchback who could pace her on a
blistering pace down the PCT.

James, as far as your question about the JMT records and number of times
hiked, see the below.

I have thru-hiked the JMT 11 times including one jo-jo.
In 2003 I hiked the JMT unsupported in 5days & 10 hours which at that 
time was
considered the "UNSUPPORTED" record.

There are 3 categories.
1. With support team...Support team carries food & gear and prepares meals.
2. Self supported...Hiker has resupplies.
3. Unsupported...No resupplies, restaurant stops or hand outs from other 
hikers.
     No assistance of any kind...the hiker lives of the land and what's 
in his pack.
