There have been several iterations of "social media" technology. the
original "social media" was mailing lists, like this one. Then came
BBS services, then web forums. Somewhere along the way Yahoo! came up
with Yahoo Groups, which was a mailing list with a web interface....
It is basically a really old idea.

Then there was Myspace.com, and now there is Facebook.

So no, they yahoo group has nothing to do with PCT-L, Facebook or anything else.
