[pct-l] Hat Creek Rim - you thought Mountain Bikers were trouble

While hiking along the Lost Creek canyon yesterday, I was passed by half a dozen motorcyclists. Feeling outnumbered and a little
vulnerable with respect to my car, which was parked about halfway between Lost Creek and the fire lookout site, I got off the trail
when they passed and didn't say anything. I didn't bother calling anybody since it was Memorial Day and the Forest Service
and county sheriff, if they even cared, probably had their hands full with emergencies. The tracks started somewhere north
of where my car was parked and did not continue as far south as the hwy 44 trailhead.

Then later I saw motorcycle tracks from Old Station to the old hwy 44 junction east of Subway Cave. I wondered if it was the
same bunch, but these tracks did not continue up old hwy 44 to the hwy 44 trailhead, so perhaps the riders followed old hwy 44
in the other direction toward hwy 89, which is not part of the PCT and might be legal for all I know.
