Trailtickles

Dogs in general are not a problem on the PCT it humans and dog owners that are the problems allowing their dogs to chase the wild life and not teaching the dogs not to bark.
Sound like you're doing a good job of training your dog to behave.

This year there is a pair of dogs on the trail that their owners have done and are doing a great job with them ..... it can be done.

If have not already done so take a look at the pictures of Hallie & Brynnadie at:

One bit of advise is about physical training.
A dog trainer would not expect a sled dog to run the iditarod having only pulled a sled for 100 miles in a grassy meadow. Do not expect a trail dog to hike the PCT after just a few 20 mile days on the Oregon portion of the PCT.

'til later,
