[pct-l] How many pairs of shoes/ boots do you need

My trail runners (Brooks Cascadias) usually last about 1300 miles.  Went through two on the PCT last year.

You'll need about 9 pair if you buy them all in advance and 5 pair if
you buy them after the first pair have proven their worth (or lack
of) on the trail.

But seriously, it takes around 5 pairs of trail runners to do the
whole trail if you can get the sizing right.
