I know several members of this list live in the Puget Sound area. On May
11th the North 350 Blades (northern Washington PCT trail maintenance
volunteer crew) is having a kick-off party for our 2013 maintenance season.
We'd love to see all of you come out for this! Among our "regulars" we have
several thru-hikers, several long-term section hikers, and other people who
are passionate about the trail so if you're looking for an opportunity to
hang out with "the tribe", this is the place to be. Kindred spirits and all
that!

Details are in the message below. Please RSVP to north350blades at gmail.com
if you're coming. Hope to see you there!

Eric

Subject: Trail Crew Kick Off Social

Hello PCT Trail Crew Volunteers

We are pleased to announce our kick off social event for the upcoming 2013
PCT maintenance season. Come out and join us for burgers and the fixings
and learn about our plans for maintaining the Pacific Crest Trail in central
and northern Washington this coming year.

We'll announce our big projects (hint - we'll have a couple opportunities
for week long Wilderness work parties) as well as our plans for single day &
weekend events.

We'll have maps showing where our projects will be and hand outs with dates
and major project descriptions.

When: Saturday May 11 from 3:30 to 6:30

Where: Woodland Park, Picnic Shelter #5, in Seattle, just south west of
Greenlake.

Here's a link to the map on the Seattle Parks website:

http://www.seattle.gov/parks/_images/maps/picnics/Woodland4-7.pdf

Or, if you prefer Google Maps, just copy-paste the following coordinates
into a Google Map and the little green arrow will point right at Shelter #5.
47.671,-122.34569

The street address is: 1000 North 50th Street, Seattle, WA 98103. Note
that if you put this into Google Maps, it indicates on the more southern
parts of the park, while the shelter we'll be at is a bit north of there.

Our announcement is also on the PCTA blog. Head to the Pacific Crest Trail
Associations web page and check out the blog post.

Please RSVP if you're coming so we know how much food to bring. Also,
please indicate if you prefer beef or vegetarian burgers so we can get the
correct mix.

Thanks and hope to see you out there.
