Basically that's all you have to do, claim that your pet provides you with
comfort and/or a feeling of security...
When I worked at the San Diego Zoo we had people come in pushing small dogs
in strollers... claiming service animal, even one individual carrying a cat
wearing a sequined vest in her purse... again, service animal.
The previous poster is correct: there is no official certification or
registry for service dogs (animals); they don't require certified training;
they do not need to be marked in any specific manner; and "*it 'is'
strictly against the law*" for anyone to ask for proof or paperwork...
