Here in NY state (in the Adirondacks, anyway) Yellow HEET is difficult to find. Mostly it is isopropynol in the RED bottle which doesn't work too well. About 50% of the small general stores have a quart or two of solvent or denatured alcohol, though. With the added alcohol in gasoline, these additives are not even stocked by many convenience stores anymore. Something to watch for as time progresses.

Good morning, Patrick,

Here's a site that talks about alcohol fuels:
http://homemadealcoholstoves.webs.com/fuels.htm

After a quick reading it seems OK. I don't know this character, but 1) he/she's a mountain biker, and 2) it's a nondescript site on the internet so take that for whatever it's worth.

Hardware store alcohol solvent is the most economical, while yellow HEET is the most convenient and available.
