Hello all and hope you are all enjoying the PCT!
My section hiker friend and I are going to try to do the section from
Sonora to Donner Pass starting a day or so before July 4th. We live in
Seattle and have found the logistics to be a bit problematic. We could fly
down to Reno and bus to (do they stop at?) Sonora Junction and hitch from
there. Or my very supportive and long suffering (who isn't who has a spouse
doing the PCT!!) husband could drive us to Sonora Pass and leave the car at
the Reno airport and drive home. This section sounds nice and we only have
about 2-3 weeks. Any hints, ideas or places to stay or avoid? We plan a
short resupply at Echo Lk; figure doing 15mi/day.

for logistics in section hiking I may want to change that to something
snappy like logistical engineer.....) Sheehan
OH Yea...how do I find out the most current information about the trail
conditions from other hikers of the PCT, I have tried tweets and the PCT
website, Postholer and others but the info is either not there (I already
have my gear...) or is old. The National Forest sites usually say to check
with the PCT website. I enjoy this the PCT backcountry.net don't get me
wrong, but hunger for info outside of the NW.
Thanks again, you guys are awesome (I'm just old...)
