I don't know about hitching in that area, but there is a twice-daily bus
between Burney and Redding for $5. It runs Monday - Friday; no weekends or

I suspect that you could park in the lot for the gas station/store and the
P.O. at Castella. Call the store and ask.

IIRC, hitching along the interstate is illegal in CA. Good luck.
