Excellent point. I didn't mean to imply that they were trying to steer me wrong, either. Never have I had one that was up to date on hiking trends, though. But you have to give them a break. They sell shoes for several sports (as well as casual wear) for all ages. They can't be expected to be gear-heads in every area of every sport.
