[pct-l] Tent or not?

  I'll be hiking in the eastern part of Yosemite in August.  Basically 
leaving YV, hiking up the Merced and environs for about a week and coming 
out at Tuolumne Meadows.  I know, or think I know, that I need to take some 
form of shelter.  My choices are a tarp at 11 oz or a tent at 22 oz. 
Thinking mainly of any mosquito problem that would tilt my choice towards a 
tent.
  Any helpful thoughts (or unhelpful but witty ones!).
