> With regard to shoes with large toe box. I have a son with 4E width on his feet. As a side note, nobody makes 4E hiking boots except New Balance and they are very narrow- so not good. He hiked with Merrills last year, but they were a little narrow for his feet. Keen Voyageur were better. This year he has Nevados, that are the widest I have found yet. All that being said you can help out the toe box area a little by relacing your boots and skip the very first holes (near the toe). When I did this simple trick, he had no more blisters and his toes were not nearly so cramped. Try it you will be surprisedTrail Sampler.
