Hi Sasha,

Yes, has been discussed a lot :)
I think there is a way to search past conversations. Most people are split... There are good and bad things from increased participation. Regarding the experience.. that was discussed also.

My personal opinion? I read the book, it was okay, and a fast read.
But from what I have seen posted on here both experienced and inexperienced people get into trouble. So it really depends on the individual.
I would venture to say that as much as an inexperienced person can be overconfident in NO ability, so can an experienced person. You know they did this kind of thing 100+ times.. and don't pay attention to hazards.

I do feel badly that some people seem to be taking advantage of trail angels and their kind acts. That's not right anywhere.

I'm sure other people will weigh in.
BTW as much as the book is about her experience of the trail I'm sure people respond differently to what "wild" means. It can mean anything, just doing something that challenges you (as long as you are passionate about it!)
Evelyn
