Great article Brick.  The author goes beyond the mere exploration of
ancient knowledge to the experiencing of a connection with the earth
itself.  That ancestral understanding is something many thru hikers share.
 Along with whatever electronics you may hike with, carry a compass, watch
the clouds, keep an awareness of the seasons and be present to the trail.
