We were stopped by forest fires in 2010, but didn't pass through any Burn
Bans that season.  As you hike, word of mouth spreads pretty quickly down
trail, and even up it.  We had to talk to a ranger or two, and got ushered
off a trail that was taking us into a fire once, but you'll figure this out
as you hike.  There's really no way to know this early in the season.  If
it's a scorcher of a summer, all kinds of things are possible, but only the
Weather Gods know for sure.  Speaking of Weather Gods, were's Weather
Carrot when we need him?
