[pct-l] Successful Thruhike with Dog

Dan, If everyone who hiked with a dog and was as careful about poop as you describe, the problem would vanish. Unfortunately, that isn't always true.

I either carry it out if I'm on a day hike, or bury it if on a longer
trip. I have less problem handling dog feces than my own, using gloves
and plastic bags of course. I always have bags with me, and a handful
of areas near me have stations set up at trail heads providing bags
for dogs owners to carry out the dog poop. I often find these bags
used and sitting next to the trail, apparently for someone else to
carry out.

There are educated, considerate, and responsible pet owners on the
trail, and we do not like the appearance of being lumped into the
group that are not considerate and respectful of other trail users or
their animals. Folks, please keep that in mind when making these kinds
of comments (Not you, Ed, the some of the previous comments).
