The problem with Ray Day, or even for that matter deciding to arbitrarily begin your hike with the ADZ, is that every year is a different snow year in the Sierra. About March 1st you can make some fairly good parallels to historical records and then choose the Sierra entry date that fits your snow knowledge and skills. Then simply calculate back your mileage and conditions to reach Kennedy Mdws and you'll have your estimated start date at Campo. The best plan is always a flexible one.
