[pct-l] Dessert part in Sandals

Good afternoon, Natalia,
Many have hiked the entire PCT wearing sandals; most often with socks, but
not always. I like sandals for hiking around my local area – Mt. Hood –
but I’m not fond of getting trail-trash stuck between the sandal and the
sock. I’m also a bit uncomfortable with the idea of stubbing my toe
against a sharp stick, or walking days across snowpack with them.
Probably the most common of the sturdy trail sandals is the Chaco brand,
but there are a few others that qualify. Some hikers think the Chaco
molded arch support is too aggressive; I think it's just right. They are
available in a regular cross-the-foot strap model and a similar one that
also has a loop for the big toe. That one might be a bit of a problem for
some sock wearers.
If you try them and they just don't work out, you'll seldom be more than a
few days, or a week, away from places there you can receive or buy other
shoes.
Good luck with your trip,
