I plan on carrying one of those foil pouches of salmon on the shoulder strap of my pack. If a bear attacks, I'll tear that sucker open and splash the contents on whoever is hiking with me. Not only will it ensure my personal safety, it should make for some exciting video for the 2013 DVD.

If the attacker is a human, maybe just a titanium tent stake waved around with some Kung Fu type moves. Don't need to carry a bullet. It's all in the display of martial arts prowess.
