I'd recommend exiting the PCT at the Donner Pass trailhead, just before I-80. There are usually day hikers/trail runners using the parking at the trailhead. It should be fairly easy to get a ride with someone there into Truckee, where there are services plus a local bus that goes into Reno where there is a major airport plus other transportation.

I have hiked a lot around the Mid-Atlantic, and my longest backpacking trips have been a little over 1 month, in the Adirondak high peaks wilderness and in the White Mountains on two separate trips in the past two years. I've done a bunch of smaller backpacking and hiking excursions, I'm in LOVE!!!!! OUR BEAUTIFUL EARTH IS SO GLORIOUS!
