I had been looking for the following and finally found it. Ginny Owens (PCT, CDT, AT) shared the following with me when I was new to backpacking. I love it!

“...there are times that the only way you can do something is alone – that waiting on the convenience of others means that a lot of opportunities will pass you by.

For me, it was a matter of if I don’t go alone I don’t go. And that wasn’t acceptable.”
