[pct-l] What the PCT is really like?

 Best way to experience it is to get a multi-day hike in.

The Tahoe Rim Trail can be done comfortably in two weeks or less by most people. Easy logistics, too.


A little more time? The John Muir Trail is a classic.

Less time, do the Wonder Land Trail (just under 100 miles)

Nothing can give you a taste of what backpacking is like then, well, backpacking.

Some multi-day trips will at least give you a taste of the PCT.
