Here's an interesting blog about the storms that closed it:

Sounds like there could be a lot of trail damage in places, too.

Subject: [pct-l] North Cascades Highway closed

WA DOT says that the North Cascades Highway (one day hike north out of
Stehekin) is closed due to rock slides because of recent heavy rains. While
the web site declines to list an opening date, the local news media is
saying "about a week" to clear the road.

See: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/passes/northcascades/

The quote:

The highway is closed due to multiple landslides between milepost 147, at
the winter gate and 153 Rainy Pass. We are working to clear the slides, but
no specific time for reopening the highway is currently available

So there will be no traffic this week coming up from the west side/Puget
Sound.
