[pct-l] severe dehydration danger on the trail

It's possible the newly generated interest and notability of the PCT from the  book "Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail" has illustrated a more 'romantic' version of what it actually takes to thru-hike the PCT...or even sections of it.

Hopefully there won't be any serious injury to the "pie-in-the-sky" trail user embarking on this magnificent adventure....

I'd watch out for noobs out there...they may not know what a serious situation is until it's too late.

Seriously, people can't make it past Hauser Creek without needing a rescue?

Are all these water caches and trail angels giving people a false sense of security? Are thrus worrying too much about how they're going to charge their gadgets and less about basic survival on the trail?

What's going on out there?

Gary
