Umm yes because someone who is a C or D needs a bra for support!

Regarding this topic in general I agree with Diane that bras are mostly made with plastic underwire these days. Also most bras with underwire are super padded, and uncomfortable (MOST, some are not) 

I think most women regardless of size would wear something comfy on a LONG hike- even a walk down the block, aka a sports bra.

Weird that this is a huge study subject!
