Ssssh!!
The legislators will next be contemplating a thru-hiker tax.  There will be a collector on the north bank of the Columbia River to collect the "toll"  to hike through Washington.  (They don't want to call it a 'tax'.  That is a nsty word).

We collect tax on most everything but groceries and even that may come back
to generate revenue.
