[pct-l] Your use of PCT-L messages

Dan,

My mistake. I felt that it is important that the manufacturer be aware of legitimite complaints. I seriously doubt that either Lindsey or Isabella would object. I agree that I should have gotten their permission first. You are right - next time I will seek permission first.

Subject: Your use of PCT-L messages

Howdy! My name is Dan, and I an fairly new to the list. I have only lurked, and occasionally reply privately to someone's list message. I humbly appreciate all of the knowledge and experience that is available.
I wanted to tell you that I understand why you are using other folk's messages, but I am curious if you seek their permission first? If nothing else, there is a copyright notice at the bottom of each message addressed to the list. I doubt it would hold any water in court, if anyone even got upset enough to go there. I understand how you feel living do close to fire danger, as I grew up in Solana Beach, CA, and I have also worked at some fires as part of a volunteer communications group.
Should you ever consider it, you do not have my permission to use anything I submit for any purpose without my explicit permission. I simply want to make that clear since you have demonstrated that you will use what others say. I can, and will, speak for myself when the need arises. I can appreciate the use of the idea of something I say being used to help make a point or to help another, but I personally would not copy someone's writing verbatim without their permission. I hope you understand.
Again, thank you for your effort and experience. I read every message to PCT-L with a great deal of interest.
