In 2008 I started on April 15 and rode the 100 miles to Warner Springs. I 
left my horse there and got a ride to the Kickoff Party. If you go two weeks 
earlier I think that you will have no problems with the weather or finding 
water. Also, you won't be alone - there will be other hikers who want to get 
an early start.  Last year I drove four down to the Kickoff from Cajon Pass. 
They had to have started early to have reached Cajon Pass before the 
Kickoff.

Subject: [pct-l] section A in late March

Asking for opinions about the feasibility of doing Campo to Warner Springs
in late March.

As a teacher, I won't be getting April or May off any time soon. I was
thinking of trying the first 100 PCT miles during the last week of March.
Is this a realistic goal in terms of weather and water availability?
