Generally quickly arriving, hard hitting diarrhea, stomach problems is
bacterial, not Giardia, which generally sneaks up on you slowly after
a week or two.

If you can clearly remember the specific source you didn't treat, then
that is probably not the problem, since it would be fairly recent.

Though you could get a bacterial infection from water, you are much
more likely to get it from food, or from unclean dishes/utensils.
