[pct-l] First aid and prescription medications

Does anyone have advice on what to carry in a first aid kit. In a previous
email Tinidazole was mentioned for treating water born infections; other
prescription medications could also be helpful to treat emergency medical
conditions encountered on the trail where a hiker might be several days away
from proper medical attention.  Is there a way to  legally obtaining
controlled prescription medicines in advance of actually needing them.
