[pct-l] Map Suggestions

I've heard that in past years hikers for the upcoming season would band
together to contract a bulk printing of Halfmile's maps through one shop.
Can anyone save me a trip through the archives and confirm this?  Assuming
I'm not wrong, about what time of year does this usually happen?
