[pct-l] Why MTB's will never be on the PCT

Do hikers, equestrians, national parks and the USFS want bikes on the PCT?
In my opinion, no, they definitely do not.

Standing back and watching all this unfold, here's what I see.

The MTB community is a growing voice. They will only get stronger in the
future. By announcing a 'review' of bike policy on the PCT, the USFS shows
an impartial image towards bikes. What I see happening is the USFS heading
off a stronger assault in the future by opening up the issue now, earlier,
where the outcome is far more predictable for a desired outcome.

Any decisions made during the 2013 MTB March Madness will likely last a
long, definitive time. If I see this clearly, it's a very smooth play by
the USFS.
