I wanted to make a late entry for Team Spiderbark, who I ran into just N of the Swallow Bridge, headed south, and strong looking. They apparently are past Tehachapi now, and have a Postholer journal.

I was leading a team working the 4 miles of trail N of the bridge, up into Cow Canyon. This section of trail is now essentially up to standards. We had a rotating group of up to 10, and I was proud to have Tom from Kennedy Meadows working with us every day, he made a huge contribution to the work and to the trip.

two years ago was the first that my group, www.trailcrew.org started working in the area. We started the first year working north from the Kennedy Meadows Campground, and replaced all the wood on the first bridge crossing, then last year finished the arduous brushing through Clover Meadow, past Beck Meadow, up to the Swallow Bridge. Most of this trail had not been maintained for a decade, and the work was grim, particularly the brushing. The trail was so overgrown in places, that one time last year, we spent two hours trying to FIND the PCT, when we had started off 100 yards from it! Now that it has been cleared, I'm hoping that the process of keeping it cleared will be a much easier job.
