[pct-l] Burning TP

Maybe I'm totally out of touch, but what happened to just using
biodegradable TP and burying it along with your #2? That's what I was
always taught in Boy Scouts, and it seems to be the least
environmental impact and the least gross. The bacteria and enzymes in
your #2 ought to be enough to break down plain unscented
non-lotion-containing TP pretty quickly. Or am I totally out in left
field here? And isn't biodegradable TP distributed widely throughout
the environment less impaction than concentrating it all in landfills
(which is what happens after you pack it all the way into town)?
I'm all for LNT, but the fact is that humans on the trail will always
leave a trace - foot prints, smooshed grasses and other plants that
get under foot, and we even have the nerve to take thousands of
gallons of water from springs and waterways each year. In fact, the
trail itself is a giant, 2,200-mile long trace that we've left behind.
As with all things in life, there's a happy medium. We can't be 100%
LNT unless we just don't go. I think LNT is misguided. I think it
should be "LMT: Leave Minimal Trace". Or perhaps "LRT: Leave
Reasonable Trace".
Just my $0.02.
Please give me a minute while I get my popcorn before the flaming starts...
