travel journal is worth the read, and I believe they are putting together a
photo-book for sale.

The product pictured in that journal entry is the Ursack Minor which isn't
intended to be bear-proof in the first place - only rodent-resistant.  The
regular Ursack usually fares pretty well against bears, though as already
noted it's not legal for use in certain places where a canister is required.
The manufacturer keeps trying to get that changed but so far hasn't been
successful.
