I don't know that area but I fired up Google Earth and took a look. Heading south the trail is maybe 3 miles from I90 for the first 20 miles and there are forest service roads, so escape looks possible but might not be. After 20 miles or so the trail leaves the area of I90 but there are still forest service roads. After 45 miles the roads stop and the next road crossing looks like it is at Mile 2332 on the PCT, Mather Memorial Pkwy, 410 and then the end point is the next road. The longest distance between roads is 35 miles.

So if I was going to do this I would check out the trail in the summer to see how it looks. If the trail isn't all cliff edges and death falls, then I would get a group together, send one or two guys to Ned Tibbits' school to learn to avoid avalanches, get whatever safety gear Ned recommended, get a Spot or two, get a sled or three, make some snowmobiling friends and give it a try.

If snowmobiles are allowed on the roads to do resupply then I think I would have a shot, assuming the avalanche risk is low. I assume the roads would be closed to other vehicles that time of year.
