Is there something like the Merrell "Sonic Glove" trail shoe out there, but with a harder, but not thicker (or maybe only slightly thicker) sole. I like the minimal design of the SG - the lack of padding etc, I like the closeness to the ground - but wonder/doubt the soles will last 500 miles... though could be wrong. TheDuck
