I only hiked Oregon the one time, in 2009, in July.

I doubt you'll need these things. The only snow I can remember was
easy to walk in. I did see bears in Oregon but didn't feel a need for
a bear canister. They all ran away from me like I was the Devil. Bear
canisters aren't required.

The month that I was in Oregon I was really hot every night. I had a
20 degree bag and lots of nights I had to push it away from me for a
few hours before I could sleep. I don't know if it was an extra hot
summer or what. I did hear there was a big heat wave in Portland and
it was 106. As soon as I crossed the border to Washington it was
freezing and I was near hypothermic all day but oddly the nights were
still warm and I slept toasty.

My boyfriend and I have a Six Moons Lunar Duo. It's roomy. If you
sleep head to toe you won't get that "too close" feeling.
