FWIW

The trail has been quite cleaned up from Red's to Tuolumne, including
the 'high trail' pct, vs. the JMT.

Intermittent blowdowns start showing up again a few miles north of
Glen Aulin. They are not a significant slowdown, but are always a
chance to tear yourself up a bit.

The Paiute Creek/Benson Lake tj 'dark hole' is a real mess. Many huge
down trees, the trail is buried. The good news is that one of these
may get you across the now many-branched Paiute Creek with dry feet.
(The way I remember this from three years ago is that it was one waist
deep stream when i crossed in the early am.) The skeeters are
terrible here, deet up before you start fighting the blowdowns.

Above-average blowdowns show up in varying degrees all the way to
roughly mile 1045.

trivia item - The Elephant's Back has maybe 100-150 feet of snow on
trail, could be easy to walk around, and an innocuous bit at the top,
as of 6/18.
