I believe a permit is needed in Lassen Park. I was able to obtain one  
via US Mail way back in 1995 from the USFS in Chester (I think--the  
info was in the guide book then). Phone them and ask what to do.

I think one fire permit will do but it's likely you will not have a  
campfire.

They would work fine.

You can eat there and camp in the wilderness somewhere hidden. That's  
what I have done. Or stay at Warner Valley campground. Costs money,  
but not lots ($20?).
