[pct-l] Getting into Mammoth

As I expect to be near Red's Meadow before the buses are running,
here's what I plan to do:

1. Take the Red Cones trail to Horseshoe Lake.  This leaves the
PCT/JMT about 4 miles before Red's, and is about 4 miles long, judging
from the Tom Harrison map.  The Forest Service update says 350-400
trees were cleared from this stretch, hopefully that is the same as
saying all the trees have been cleared.

2. From Horseshoe Lake, call the ESTA for a dial-a-ride shuttle into
town.  If my phone gest reception. 760-924-3184.  $4.20/person for a
ride into town from there. Elsewise, I hitch or walk.

This would seem to be Yogi's #3 handbook option for 'Getting there'.
The #2 option doesn't make sense to me, Teatree's comments about
distance are way off.

If anyone see's a flaw in this strategy, or has a better plan, please
let me know.  Leaving Independence tomorrow AM.
